The Aerostructures Innovation Research Hub

Swinburne University of Technology’s Aerostructures Innovation Research (AIR) Hub is dedicated to advancing Australia’s next generation of ‘clean aviation’. Our developments focus on clean energy propulsion and highly efficient manufacturing methods, with an emphasis on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Our research capabilities also include digitalisation, advanced manufacturing, multi-functional materials and clean propulsion systems.

We are committed to helping solve the challenges around greater efficiency in aviation and have proactively developed key programs to foster Australia’s leadership in utilising hydrogen propulsion systems across the aviation industry.

We are embracing digitalisation and Industry 4.0 to develop intelligent manufacturing processes using advanced composite materials, to design and produce innovative aerostructures and clean propulsion systems for next generation aircraft. AIR Hub has partnerships and projects with Australia’s most renowned aerostructures manufacturers, specialised aerospace systems providers, AAM developers, and leading evaluation and infrastructure providers.
